Doe in the Snow
The South is back in business. Inches of rain fell on WNC and East Tennessee this week, bringing rivers to levels not seen in years. I drove through creeks to get to the Doe, and found it at a raging 4200 cfs. We put on and made it about half way down the river before calling it quits. It was way too high. I got some redemption on the Elk at super high water that afternoon. The next day we went back to the Doe and ran it at a more reasonable level, about 1000 cfs. It was a beautiful but cold, snowy day. My Creek Top kept me warm.
